Siciliano's Market News, April 28, 2022 Edition

This week's list of new and returning products follows a few words about the 2022 Siciliano's Homebrew Competition

Judging Best of Show

Preamble by Steve Siciliano

Last Saturday a group of 20 experienced judges gathered at the Siciliano's Judging Venue to evaluate the 90 beers submitted in the 2022 Siciliano's Homebrew Competition.

Out of those 90 entries, ten were pushed to the Mini Best of Show with four of those making it to the Best of Show Round.

The winner of Best of Show will be announced at the Big Brew at Trail Point on Saturday, May 7.

The BOS winner will receive a $250.00 gift card card from Siciliano's Market, will have the opportunity to brew the award winning recipe at a local brewery and last, but certainly not least, gets his/her name engraved on the prestigious Siciliano's Cup.

Out of the 90 beers entered in this year's competition a total of 75 were awarded medals with the breakdown as follows:

Gold 25

Silver 29

Bronze 21

All entries in the Siciliano’s Homebrew Competitions are judged by industry professionals and/or trained judges according to the standards of style, not in comparison to each other, with the exception of the Best of Show rounds. Entries that received scores falling within designated point totals were awarded medals.

Thanks to all who entered and special thanks to the judges and stewards who volunteered their time and helped make the competition a success.
