This week's list of new and returning products follows a fond adieu to Sarah Derylo

Barb and I have always referred to our employees as “our kids” so whenever a long-time staff member moves on we experience the same range of emotions that parents feel when one of their children decides it’s time to leave the nest. And so it was last week when Sarah informed us that she was leaving the employ of Siciliano’s Market.
Sarah has been with us for about fifteen years, the last five or so in the capacity of general manager. She was instrumental in helping solidify Siciliano's as one of west Michigan's premier specialty stores.
Barb and I would like to publicly thank Sarah for her past dedication to our little family run business. We wish her much success in her future endeavors.

The Gladstone Axe, The Black Axe, Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, Scotland, $36.89/750ml-Every batch of Gladstone Axe Black Axe is made from 100% malted barley and aged in oak barrels. The Black Axe is made from a selection of malt whiskies from 14 different Highland and Islay malt Distilleries. Waypost Balaton Stout, $12.49/500ml-Elegant imperial stout fermented in American oak foeder, then conditioned for six months in cherry brandy barrels with local Balaton cherries. The rich, red fruit character is well-integrated with the base beer, with restrained tartness delicately accenting the bittersweet baking chocolate, toasted almond and rich roasted notes from the malt.
Waypost Biere de Luxe, $3.89/16oz-Inspired by the French farmhouse brewing tradition, Bière de Luxe is a straw-colored lager brewed and dry hopped with classic Alsatian hops. Features bright notes of citrus peel, cut grass, a little green herbal quality against a very restrained malt backdrop.
Waypost OEPA, $4.29/16oz-A hybrid beer mashed with Sauvignon Blanc fruit and co-fermented with Sauvignon Blanc juice. Bright fruit cup character - guava, passionfruit tropicals and grapefruit. Dry hopped with Michigan-grown Chinook and Cascade. We used a special yeast strain that unlocks flavor compounds usually associated with the wine world to create a true hybrid product - a fresh new world white wine meets a heavily hopped IPA.
