Siciliano's Market News, November 5 Edition

Updated: Nov 5, 2020

This week's list of new and returning products follows a few words about our latest single barrel bourbon acquisition

Preamble by Steve Siciliano

We're excited to announce that we have acquired an entire 53-gallon barrel of Private Stock bourbon from Wyoming Whiskey. This 117 proof bourbon (68% corn, 20% wheat, 12% barley) was aged five years in a charred white oak barrel and was chosen by the Siciliano's staff from samples drawn from four different barrels. The 750ml bottles are retailing for $63.00 exclusively at Siciliano's.

It's the opinion of Siciliano's liquor buyer John Barecki that this family owned operation located in Wyoming's Bighorn Basin makes some of the best bourbon outside of Kentucky. The distillery uses locally sourced strains of non GMO corn, wheat, barley and winter rye and takes water from the Madison Formation, a mile deep aquifer which has limestone rock millions of years old.

The following are John's tasting notes for this exceptional barrel strength whiskey.

Notes of dried fruit, apricot, barrel spice, cocoa, vanilla, caramel candy, baking spices and oak. Full and viscus on the palate with a long lingering finish of spice, dried fruit, and cocoa.

The palate is excellent, fruity, full of flavor and elegant, giving the drinker a delightful sense of abundance. (Source)
